Drawing from my personal connection to ALS, a condition I witnessed my uncle and his family battle during my childhood, I felt a profound motivation to intertwine two thematic narratives: the realm of filmmaking and the poignant realities of ALS. Leveraging silver printing to evoke the cinematic essence, I collaborated with the author to reimagine cherished scenes as script excerpts, vividly translating their cinematic visions onto the first and last pages of the book. In contrast, the portrayal of ALS was conveyed through black and white watercolor, capturing a blend of sorrow and ambiguity, reflective of my uncle’s memory.

Booklet

Accompanying the book is a special booklet brimming with exclusive interviews featuring the characters from the ALS movie, <So Long, My Brother>. To evoke the emotional journey portrayed in the film, I opted for a color combination of grey and red. This choice initially conveys the sorrow and melancholy inherent in the story, followed by the characters' boundless passion for romance and acting.

In keeping with the artistic aesthetic of the book, I personally illustrated the booklet using a black and white watercolor style. These illustrations complement the narrative, mirroring the captivating visuals found within the pages of the book itself. The booklet serves as a poignant extension of the experience, inviting readers to delve deeper into the world of the characters and their stories.

Merchandise

In addition to <So Long, My Brother> , I've expanded my creative endeavors to include a range of merchandise include posters, postcards, tickets, folders inspired by other films referenced in the book. To distinguish the various films and their unique atmospheres, I employed a diverse array of illustration styles. Each piece of artwork is thoughtfully tailored to reflect the distinct mood, aesthetic, directing style of the film it represents.
